About My Growing Practices
Why I choose to grow the way that I do:
Everything belongs to our Sovereign God.
The earth was created by God for all mankind.
Our body is formed by God.
Our soul is created by God.
As a follower of Jesus Christ, I Honor God by choosing the Way of Life, both spiritually and physically.
Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
What I will *not* do:
I will not be using herbicide, pesticides nor fungicides. These products do not promote life.
Note the suffix ‘-cide’ denotes ‘to kill’.
What I will do:
- I will grow all of my produce using organic methods along with additional regenerative methods.
- I will use soil testing as a guide to improve the mineralization of my garden. (Based on these tests, I will add the appropriate organic soil amendments as needed.)
- I will use cover crops as a means to add and maintain fertility and biological life (microbes) to the soil.
- I will use foliar sprays to add needed micro nutrients to the plants. (if you happen to be driving by and you see me spraying the plants…this is what I am doing)
Certifications:
I will not be certified organic via the government USDA National Organic Program.
